SU Electronic Gallery Hosts "Untitled (domestic gestures)" Exhibit June 19-August 12
SALISBURY, MD---Artist Tania Lou Smith combines humor, costumes, composition and play in a series of performance videos detailing small acts of escape during the exhibit “Untitled (domestic gestures)” June 19-August 12 in ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥’s Electronic Gallery, Conway Hall Room 128.
With a background in live performance, video and photography, Smith often works with costumes and playfully examines the idea of “breaking free.” She has exhibited widely in Australia. Her works also have been seen in Indonesia, South Korea and Taiwan.
She was part of the 2015 Studio Start-Up program at Melbourne’s Abbotsford Convent. Smith also has been a finalist for the Josephine Schubert and Win Ulrick Photography Award, Sunshine Coast Art Prize, M Collection Award and Maggie Diaz Photography Prize for Women.
Gallery hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Thursday, noon-4 p.m. Friday-Saturday. Sponsored by SU Art Galleries, admission is free and the public is invited.
