Area Students Earn SU Golf Classic Scholarships
SALISBURY, MD---Four Delmarva area students each received a $1,000 scholarship, thanks to funds raised from the ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ Foundation, Inc.’s 33rd annual Golf Classic.
The 2017 recipients are Lela Bones, a computer science major from Georgetown, DE; Ryan Spadin, a biology major from Delmar, MD; Sarah Ashley, an interdisciplinary studies major from Hebron, MD; and Marley Parsons, a fine arts major from Berlin, MD. All are sophomores at SU.
“Our annual tournament is a success because of the people participating, said Amy Waters, SU’s director of donor relations and special events. “The turnout from our local and regional businesses with continual sponsorship support shows their commitment to the University and our students. We can’t thank them enough.”
This is the fifth year the scholarship has been awarded. Recipients must be sophomores from the Lower Eastern Shore or Sussex County, DE, with a 3.2 GPA or higher.
