Professional Development Schools Conference May 26

SALISBURY, MD---Public school-university partnerships have long been a staple of developing quality teachers in Maryland and Delaware. ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ helps further prepare prospective teachers for the classroom during the ninth annual Regional Professional Development Schools Conference 4-7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 26, in The Commons. The conference is open to SU faculty and students as well as educators in Wicomico, Somerset, Worcester, Dorchester Talbot, Caroline and Anne Arundel counties, and Delaware’s Seaford School District. The works and collaborations of professional development schools (PDS) and the University are highlighted in featured presentations and discussions. Topics include serving public schools through internships and developing creative programs for local students. The regional PDS partnership has grown to include seven school districts in Maryland and one in Delaware, serving 36 public elementary, middle and high schools. The partnership focuses on preparing teachers of excellence through emphasizing student achievement. The conference includes three concurrent sessions followed by awards and a reception.
