Nominations Sought For Pi Gamma Mu

SALISBURY, MD---Maryland Gamma, ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ University’s chapter of Pi Gamma Mu international social science honor society, is accepting nominations for membership. Its fall initiation is 6 p.m. Saturday October 2, in the Bistro of the Commons. Membership is open to juniors, seniors and graduate students in the upper 35 percent of the class with at least 20 semester hours in the social sciences and a grade point average of 3.3 or better. Students may obtain credits from courses in anthropology, criminal justice, cultural geography, economics, history, history of education, international relations, philosophy, political science, sociology and social psychology. The society provides recognition for scholastic achievements and offers enrichment opportunities through service projects, publications, scholarships and lecture grants. Maryland Gamma is the recipient of national and international awards. In the past 20 years, SU students received international scholarships of which only 10 are given annually. A recent graduate also was published in International Social Science Review, the official journal of Pi Gamma Mu.
