SU German Club Holds 40th Oktoberfest Wednesday, October 17
SALISBURY, MD---The ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ German Club brings cultural food, games and music to campus for its 40th annual Oktoberfest celebration.
From 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday, October 17, on Fulton Hall Lawn, the festival features student and community organizations, as well as the Philadelphia German Brass Band. A beer garden is open for those ages 21 and older.
Platters available for purchase during the event include bratwurst, sauerkraut, German potato salad, soft pretzels and a beverage. Other features include games, music, local vendors and performances by SU German Club dancers and Medieval knight re-enactors.
Admission is free and the public is invited. Rain location is TBD.
That evening, University Dining Services and the Office of Cultural Affairs present an Oktoberfest dinner featuring the Philadelphia German Brass Band from 4:30-7:30 p.m. in the Commons.
The menu includes Rhineland marinated beef, Wiener Schnitzel with Black Forest mushroom sauce, beer-basted bratwurst with caramelized onions and German mustard, potato pancakes, potato salad with Kielbasa, Bavarian red cabbage, rolls, rye and pumpernickel bread, soft pretzels, German chocolate upside-down cake, apple dumplings, pretzel cookies and German chocolate cookies.
Cost of the dinner is $11.09, $6.73 for children under 5. Reservations are not required.
