Friday January 30, 2015
SALISBURY, MD---¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ Art Galleries presents the exhibit “Light Shadow Wave Water” by Edward Brown from February 20-March 21 at its Downtown Gallery.
A reception is 5-7 p.m. February 20 during the ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ Arts & Entertainment District’s monthly 3rd Friday celebration.
Brown, an associate professor in SU’s Art Department, uses charcoal to draw dark and light tones, accentuated with calligraphic lines, to render the rhythmic and nebulous forms of waves at Assateague Island. As a landscape artist, Brown is drawn to the abstract shapes in nature, dramatic contrast in light and dark, and expressive use of lines. Drawings in the exhibit were created both on site and in the studio.
Gallery hours are noon-6 p.m. Wednesday-Friday, noon-4 p.m. Saturdays. Sponsored by SU Art Galleries, admission is free and the public is invited.
