Musicians Highlight Fun Day 2004--Explore SU

SALISBURY, MD---¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ is Wicomico County’s music central during Fun Day 2004—Explore SU Saturday, September 18. Combining family fun with tunes running the gamut from folk to classic jazz to rock ‘n’ roll, the following musicians are scheduled to perform:

11 a.m.-noon: SU’s Dr. Wayne Ackerson takes a break from his History Department duties to perform at the Fun Day Coffeehouse. His styles include folk, alternative rock, country and even the occasional Britney Spears song.

Noon-1:30 p.m.: ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ favorite The Folk Heroes bring their stringed sounds to the coffeehouse, featuring ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ attorney Robin Cockey on fiddle; Dr. Michael O’Loughlin, chair of the SU Political Science Department, on guitar; and Princess Anne physician Dr. Charles Stegman on guitar and banjo. From the vales of Ireland to the hills of Appalachia, their music has been handed down from generation to generation, expressing the joys, woes and struggles of everyday people.

1:30-2:30 p.m.: Samuel W. and Marilyn C. Seidel School of Education and Professional Studies Advising Services Coordinator Diana Wagner continues the folk music tradition on acoustic guitar.

2:30-3:30 p.m.: Local band Tuscan Radio rocks SU!
