Mid-Atlantic Power Pathway Exhibit Comes to SU September 16

SALISBURY, MD---Delmarva Power invites customers to learn more about its proposed Mid-Atlantic Power Pathway (MAPP), which is the subject of a display at the Commons at ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday, September 16.

Delmarva Power employees will be on hand to answer questions about the project, which would install a new 230-mile transmission line to meet the area’s growing power demand. The line would provide a new power transportation path to Maryland’s Eastern Shore, providing access to electricity generating sources west of the Chesapeake Bay.

In addition, the new line is expected to tie in with renewable power sources such as onshore and offshore wind facilities, enhance electricity distribution systems used by Delmarva Power and other local electric cooperatives, including Choptank Electric, and help stabilize electricity costs on the Delmarva Peninsula.
