'Eyes Awakened' Exhibit at SU September 8-October 6

SALISBURY, MD---The art world knows him as Mijomor, but Eastern Shore artist Michael J. Morris’ works are anything but abbreviated. His subjects range from Afristracts (collaged images of Africa) to poetry painting combinations to everyday people in a variety of media from oil to pencil to graphic design.

¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ hosts an exhibit of Mijomor’s works titled “Eyes Awakened” September 8-October 6 at the Atrium Gallery of the Guerrieri University Center. An opening reception is 5-7 p.m. Saturday, September 9.

An artist and educator since 1975, Mijomor currently teaches art at James M. Bennett High School. He also is an instructor in the Visual and Performing Arts Career Program for gifted and talented students at Wicomico High School. He stresses to students though their final pieces may be great, the path traveled to reach that final destination is a more important benefit to them as learners.

Gallery hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday-Friday, closed Mondays, weekends and holidays. Admission is free and the public is invited.
