Czech Pianist Kvapil Performs at SU October 22
SALISBURY, MD---Internationally renowned Czech pianist Radoslav Kvapil performs at 7 p.m. Wednesday, October 22, in the Great Hall of ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥’s Holloway Hall as part of the Patricia Wroten Piano Concert Series.
Considered one of the finest pianists of Czech repertoire, Kvapil has brought his interpretation of music from his native land to concert halls in 47 countries and 26 U.S. states. He has performed at Royal Albert Hall in London, the Auditorium du Louvre in Paris, Concert Hall of the Seoul Arts in South Korea and the Henry Crown Symphony Hall in Jerusalem.
During his more-than-40-year career, Kvapil has presented lectures and master classes at universities throughout Europe and the United States, recorded the complete works of Dvorak and given frequent live broadcasts for international television and radio stations. In 2002 he received one of France’s highest honors, the "Knight of the Arts" (Chevalier des Arts et de la Litterature de la Republique Francaise). In the Czech Republic, he is chairman of the Dvorak Society and founder of the South Bohemia Music Festival.
