Blackwell Hall Renovations Begin

By SU Public Relations

SALISBURY, MD---As ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ starts its fall semester, renovations to Blackwell Hall have begun.

Community members visiting campus are advised that Parking Lot F, on Camden Avenue behind Blackwell Hall, will remain closed for the duration of the construction, scheduled to conclude in fall 2026.

Currently, Holloway Hall Lawn also is unavailable for activities due to the drilling of geothermal wells to serve the renovated Blackwell Hall. The lawn’s surface will be returned to its natural state following this process.

Trees will be planted on other areas of campus to replace those removed as part of the renovation, further expanding the campus arboretum. Upon its reopening as a student service center in 2026, Blackwell is expected to become one of the first net-zero buildings in the University System of Maryland.

The $60 million facility will house SU’s Counseling Center, Advising Center, Registrar’s Office, Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships, Dean of Students Office and more, centralizing most student support systems on campus.

It also will serve as the new home of the SU Admissions Office, with features including a greeting and gathering space for tours and open houses.
