Peacherine Ragtime Society Orchestra Returns to SU Nov. 1

SALISBURY, MD---The Peacherine Ragtime Society Orchestra returns to ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥, providing musical accompaniment to the classic Douglas Fairbanks silent film The Mark of Zorro 7 p.m. Friday, November 1, in the Jackson Family Auditorium of Holloway Hall.

Peacherine is the leading professional ragtime orchestra in the U.S. Under the direction of virtuoso Andrew Greene, the ensemble recreates the syncopated stylings of a bygone era – ragtime, theatre and dance music – along with underscoring classic silent films using an immense archive of over 15,000 original orchestral scores.

The Mark of Zorro is a genre-defining 1920 silent adventure romance film, and the first movie version of the legendary Zorro, defender of the people.

Sponsored by the Office of Cultural Affairs, admission is free and the public is invited, but tickets are required. Tickets are available through SU’s online box office
