Koehler Named SU Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management

Allen KoehlerSALISBURY, MD---¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ recently announced Allen Koehler as its new assistant vice president for enrollment management.

Koehler comes to SU from Penn State University-Hazleton, where he has served as the director of enrollment management since 2016. His new position begins Monday, May 24.

“Allen has a long career in university admissions, with a background in many of the areas in which we specialize at SU,” said Dr. Dane Foust, SU vice president of student affairs. “We look forward to the experience and energy he will bring to the Admissions Office.”

At Penn State-Hazleton, Koehler oversaw the university’s admissions and financial aid offices. He also developed, directed and coordinated the campus’ strategic enrollment plan and had the highest yield rate of all 20 Penn State campuses while serving as a leader on several university councils and boards.

Previously, he served as director of international admissions and recruitment at Mount Saint Mary College (NY), where he established and oversaw the International Admissions Office and created two articulation agreements with universities in China.

He began his collegiate admissions career in 2008 as an admissions counselor at Wagner College (NY), where he later served as coordinator of international recruitment.

At SU, Koehler will oversee undergraduate admissions, the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships and the Center for Student Achievement. He also will be responsible for developing enrollment marketing, retention and strategies under the University’s strategic enrollment plan.

“I am thrilled to be joining the SU family and working closely with the enrollment and student affairs teams,” he said. “I'm confident we will work as a team to continue strengthening the University for years to come.”

Koehler earned his master’s in higher education administration from Northeastern University (MA); and his B.A. in international relations and affairs, and French studies, from Wagner College. He currently lives in Drums, PA, with his husband, Brian.
