SU's Wright to Lead a 'Sing-Along of Hymns' at The Charles H. Chipman Cultural Center
SALISBURY, MD---Dr. John Wesley Wright, voice professor in ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥’s Music, Theatre and Dance Department, leads a sing-along of hymns, spirituals and other songs in the African American tradition 10 a.m. Sunday, September 9, at the Charles H. Chipman Cultural Center.
A free brunch follows.
Wright, an acclaimed tenor, has toured throughout the U.S. and abroad. He is known for his artistic and soulful interpretations of multiple musical styles. The coordinator of SU’s voice and opera workshop programs, he also is a member of the renowned American Spiritual Ensemble and winner of the 2000 American Traditions Competition.
The Chipman Cultural Center is located at 325 Broad St. Sponsored by the center, SU and Remedy Church, admission is free and the public is invited.
