SU Announces Emergency Notification System for Parents
SALISBURY, MD---This summer, ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ upgraded its campus emergency notification system to Alertus+, a free mobile app available from the Apple and Google Play stores.
Now parents may sign up for alerts, as well, using any email address with the organizational code “SUFNS.” For download instructions visit the Alertus+ page on the SU Police Department website.
SU students, faculty and staff members who have not already signed up should use their University email accounts with the code “¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥” to do so.
Alertus+ notifications will be sent in the event of campus emergencies for which immediate action is necessary, such as seeking shelter during tornado warnings or reports of armed intruders on campus.
Alertus + notifications will not be sent for forecasted weather events (hurricanes, blizzards, etc.). Information about campus closings, reopenings, delays and cancellations in those types of situations will be posted as needed via a gold “weather alert” bar across the new SU website.
For more information about Alertus+ call the SU Police Department at 410-543-6222.
