PACE Co-Hosts 'Community Conversations on Race' in June
SALISBURY, MD---¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥’s Institute for Public Affairs and Civic Engagement (PACE) and Tri Community Mediation host three “Community Conversations on Race” presentations in June.
Film screenings and panel discussions are scheduled:
• Monday, June 4 – Greater ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ Committee office, 200 W. Main St., 4:30-6 p.m.
• Tuesday, June 5 – Charles H. Chipman Cultural Center, 325 Broad St., 5:30-7 p.m.
• Tuesday, June 12 – Fulton Hall Room 111, SU, 6-7:30 p.m.
For several months, small groups of participants in the ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ area have met for 25 hours each for discussions about race, facilitated by Tri Community Mediation. Their conversations have been described as tough, funny, awkward, poignant, frustrating and eye-opening.
During these presentations, participants discuss the experience following a short documentary on the initiative and information about how those attending may become part of the dialog.
