My research integrates field mapping, core logging, and petrologic and geochemical analysis of terrestrial and marine sediments and rocks to reconstruct Earth's history.
My teaching philosophy is student-centric. Student learning outcomes in the geosciences are firmly rooted in experiential learning. To this end, I prefer to blend lecture content with in-class activities to learn fundamentals and develop problem solving and critical thinking skills. Field experiences are a critical component that reinforces these fundamental skills and concepts and drives student engagement and learning.
