Research Interests

I am an observational astronomer by training. My primary research interests are finding orbiting companions to stars in the Milky Way (brown dwarf companions in particular). I am interested in studying large groups of these systems to see what trends we can find that may unveil how these systems are formed and how they evolve over time. Achievement of these goals require the use of large Astronomical Surveys, which requires some software development and data science skills to use properly. Finally, I am interested in Professional-Amateur Astronomer partnerships and exploring research opportunities for small-aperture telescopes.
