Bio
Dr. Leonard Arvi is a Professor of Finance and chairperson of the Department of Finance. In 2020 was recognized with SU ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ Association Faculty Appreciation Award and in 2014 was the recipient of the University System of Maryland Board of Regents' Faculty Excellence Award for Mentoring. Besides academia, Arvi is a serial entrepreneur. His expertise includes real estate finance, alternative investments, and risk management. He is a strong advocate for financial literacy, currently serving as a judge for the Shore Hatchery business plan competition, a board member of the Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore - Wicomico county, served as a member of the City of ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ Sustainability Committee, a founding member of the non-profit WDS Foundation, and volunteers in many local organizations including Wicomico public schools, YMCA, St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore.
