My goal is for every student who enters the classroom to leave more powerful, stronger, and more capable. True learning requires risk-taking, the possibility of being wrong, of trying and failing, which means that I work to make space for students to grow with that capacity, inviting learners to welcome the discomfort and providing the community to permit mistakes and development. I endeavor to create a supportive learning community within each course I teach, modeling the pedagogy of warm demanding, where I expect great things based on creating a real relationship with each student.
