70th Bi-Annual Senior Art Show
SALISBURY, MD---¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ graduating art majors display their work during the 70th Biannual Senior Art Exhibition “Golden Hour” April 15-May 17 at SU Art Galleries (SUAG) Downtown.
An opening reception is 5-7 p.m. Friday, April 26.
The exhibition showcases 17 artists mastering media, including painting, sculpture, photography, and digital art.
“Golden Hour” symbolizes the end of the artists’ journey as college seniors and their transition to the next phase of life, much as the golden hour represents the end of the day or the start of a new day, as the sun is about to touch the horizon. It is a moment of reflection, transition and celebration as the seniors prepare to embark on new beginnings.
This is also known as the “Magic Hour.” The artists aim to take their artwork to the next level by making it magical with all the skills and aesthetics they have acquired.
A course taught by Jinchul Kim, professor of art, the senior exhibition aims to summarize students’ art experiences at SU by having them lead the planning and execution of a professional art exhibition as a capstone course.
